Ten artists have been selected for Ankara Queer Art Program Artist Residency across the globe.
The selected participants of the Ankara Queer Art Program - Artist Residency, organized by Kaos GL, have been announced. The program plans to host visual artists both from Turkey and worldwide at Ankara.
The program was initially planning to host five artists, but due to economic hardships and difficulties about maintaining their work, the program decided to support ten artists financially.
The education program with experts has been moved to the online sphere. And also, artists’ visits to Ankara postponed to the first quarter of 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic.
Aylime Aslı Demir, Bige Örer, Çelenk Bafra, Derya Bayraktaroğlu, Ege Berensel, Erinç Seymen, Fatih Özgüven, Kevser Güler and Nilbar Güreş were the juries of the residency. There has been applications across the globe fo the program.
After the jury’s evaluations, ten artists who mainly work on video and video installations, collective listening, auditory perception, poetic space of architecture, affection, queer feminism, commonality, labor, sexual freedom, desire, pleasure and vulnerability has been chosen:
